BMA – Conference and Meeting Rooms

Art Contact was asked to find appropriate artwork to be included in the refurbishment of various meeting and conference rooms.

To meet the brief a series of photographic montages were commissioned printed onto acrylic panels. In the circulation spaces montages were created of the BMA and the surrounding area but in the named meeting rooms very specific themes were chosen relating to the name of the meeting room.

As well as these commissions, there were also a number of pictures that required re-framing to match the new colour scheme and the interior design of the refurbishment.

To further enhance the interior design clocks and other accessories were also supplied.

Worshipful Company of Fishmongers – Pageant Scroll

Art Contact was asked by the Fishmongers Company to arrange for the Conservation and Restoration of their Pageant Scroll. The scroll depicts the Lord Mayors pageant of 1616 and dates from around that time.

The scroll was hanging in a frame, mounted on fabric stretched over a wooden support. As part of their on-going refurbishment of the Hall it was decided to make a feature of the scroll by placing it in a purpose built display cabinet in the Library of the Fishmongers Hall.

Art Contact made the arrangements for the scroll to be removed from its existing frame and support. The scroll was then transported to our paper restorer for conservation, restoration and re-mounting onto a new conservation grade support.

The mounted scroll was then packed and placed in storage until the display cabinet had been installed ready to receive the re-mounted scroll.

M3 Capital Partners

Art Contact was asked to assist M3 Capital Partners with the display of some of the photographs of development sites they have been involved in. Images were selected and enhanced by adding strategic colour to highlight areas within the image to give a ‘pop-art’ feel to their original photographs.

Images were selected for a number of wall recesses. These images were printed onto Di-bond panels and floated inside perspex boxes which were designed to fit into the recesses.

One large image, again printed onto Di-bond and floated in a large perspex box was installed leaning against the wall on a slightly raised shelf in the reception.

Other items were mounted and framed in specially milled Oak moulding to match the other woods use in the design of these offices. The images were again selected from detail photographs of their development projects.

The installed artworks were so well received that we have since supplied similar imagery to their offices in the USA.
