M1 Agency

M1 Agency based in London operates across the UK and Europe in national investment, letting and tenant advice for warehouses and larger commercial buildings.

The company was keen to use their own images of various properties but as a commercial real estate is  not so decorative and interesting, we suggested highlighting areas by creating a ‘PopArt’ photographic collage.

The concept was received well and we set about working with a digital photographer who we have worked with over the decade, together we created a bespoke artwork which reflected the company portfolio and the vibrant young environment of the office with shots of bright colours adorning the corridors and boardroom.

Medicix

Medicix is an international investment firm focused on the life sciences sector, established in 2016 by former Index Venture life Science team.

Medicix approached Art Contact as they had just moved to a new office in Great Pulteney Street and requested suggestions for artwork which reflected their multinational company.

We suggested Gee an up-and-coming artist who had spent years refining his new collection and his technique of curating a selection of vintage postage stamps from around the world which he had collected.

The postage stamp invented in England in 1840 revolutionized global communication.  All nations quickly adopted the concept of making it their own.  Each stamp tells its own cultural narrative, celebrating everything from commerce and innovation to art and agriculture which reflected the multinational organization as well as the work they carry out in the science sector across the globe.

CGE Partners

CGE Partners is a private equity investment firm, supporting businesses across Europe. CGE invests in companies using technology to facilitate the worlds transitional to a more digital, renewable, secure, compliant future.

CGE Partners, having spent several years looking to engage an art consultant reached out to Art Contact.  At our initial meeting, the company expressed their desire and how they wanted to have the artwork reflect their ethos of both renewable and new technology as well as for the artwork to be a talking point without being too wacky.

Art Contact set about putting forward a number of artists for each area which reflected their requirements. In the boardroom a standard artwork would not have been a solution with the vertical dominated wooden panels so something more appropriate was proposed.

In the boardroom an artwork was selected by the artist Butcher using reusable aluminium bars painted with oil and resin. The installation complements the wooden vertical lines. Works by an Italian artist re-using magazine paper to create a 3-d sculptural art work was used for the main waiting area. Other area contained works by Winter, who creates 3-d sculptural wall art with sustainably sourced sand and stone, to abstract paper-works by Ford for the staff open space. The reception and staff kitchen area also with a selection of artwork created by Brooker using re-used metal panels painted in abstract seascapes for a more calming and tranquil space.

Art Contact was approached by ANZ Bank to advise on the repair of a picture frame that had been damaged. They were keen that the picture frame restoration should tie in with their move to new offices.

The damaged frame was viewed on site and an appropriate restorer was invited to submit an estimate. Hanover Investors Management LLP engaged Art Contact to help them source suitable artworks for their new offices in London’s West End. As this was the first time that they had installed artworks in their offices they decided to rent short term to see if this was an appropriate route to make the offices feel more friendly and homely.

An extensive portfolio of artists were put forward and through discussion these were reduced to just 3 artists.

As the items were being rented, at least to start with, a portfolio was created showing available rental artworks by these artists. 8 artworks were selected which were then delivered and installed.
