Corporate Client – Relocation to Portman Square

As part of their Art Collection Management programme, Art Contact has been appointed to coordinate the move of this corporate clients existing art collection and assess the best ways to maximise the potential of the works in time for their relocation to Portman Square, with it’s panoramic view of Central London.

Art Contact provided a creative, tailored art programme for the client. This involved the cataloguing of the existing artwork for valuation and re-organisation. Art Contact also advised on the most effective ways in which to maximise the visual impact of the artworks through re-framing and careful placement across both floors.

The re-framing of the newly assembled collection took place at our in-house framing workshop, where Art Contact worked in collaboration with our client and their design team, Artillery Interiors, to integrate the artworks into the new, state-of-the-art office interior.

To celebrate the relocation, Art Contact took a brief from the client, to commission an original piece of artwork in celebration of the company growth and development.

Tiger Developments

Tiger Developments invited Art Contact to source art work for a reception which housed multi-purpose client base for a corporate building in the centre of London. When proposing work for the space, the curvature of wall encouraged innovative design which culminated in a linear collection, positioned under existing spotlights.

The collection, a series of studies, built up with sand and other natural materials provided a textural contrast to the white interior and crisp downward lighting.

From afar, the single red image appears to fragment and disrupt the order of the blue and white studies, creating a composition that had a sense of assertion within is surroundings. Upon closer inspection however, each constructed artwork, variegated with the warm, natural tones of sand and stone allowed the light to dance across it to create micro landscapes.

The wonderful concept of manoeuvring an organic material into geometric shapes, gracefully reminds us of the careful balance between the natural and the man made. These images were very well received within the building.

Inpex Corporation

Art Contact commissioned artwork to represent coral and geological patterns. Through the use of actual geological materials including pebble and sand solution, the artwork explores the natural patterns and organic ordering in our environment.

While, in the reception a large four panel Perspex artwork brings together imagery from Inpex project sites and oil rigs against a cityscape backdrop with architecture taken from four main locations worldwide where Inpex have offices. The second panel acknowledges the Japanese origins of the company, using complimentary images from London and Japan, of traditional architecture and sculpture against a backdrop of Mount Fuji and the cherry tree. The colours were considered to enhance and complement the existing design features.

For Inpex, the commissioned work lends a subtle reference to the corporation, who are continually developing and exploring oil and natural gas resources worldwide, whilst complementing the elegance of the walnut finishes throughout the office space.

Art Contact suggested re-framing pieces in the Inpex’s existing collection to be re-distributed around the offices. These pieces, which were in storage, have brightened up wall spaces within the general offices including the break out area.

Zaiwalla and Co

Zaiwalla & Co founded in 1982 and one of the first law firms to enter the international legal market in China, for this reason the company had a strong tie with China and wanted the artwork to reflect the oriental heritage as well as the European heritage in their artwork for the main reception.  The colour red was chosen to reflect the company colours.

Art Contact commissioned two digital montage artworks for the main reception and meeting rooms at Zaiwalla and Co London based offices. The artist created two cityscape depicting iconic sites from Europe and Asia to reflect the client’s associations with these countries. The concept enhances the corporate identity of Zaiwalla, by representing the global reach of the business.
