Art Strategy & Planning
Whether developing an existing collection, starting a new collection, commissioning or purchasing an artwork it is advisable to spend some time planning a coherent art strategy to meet any goal that you may have and to make best use of the available space.
Here at Art Contact we have considerable experience in guiding our clients in the establishment of a coherent art strategy and in assisting them with any planning issues that may be created by their scheme.
We are also well used to assisting our clients with any Section 106 art requirements that may have been placed on their planning consent. Be it assistance with arranging Public Consultations, the integration of a Community Arts Programme or the commissioning of a work of sculpture we are able to assist you to achieve the goals that have been set.
This first exploratory meeting is usually free of charge but we may ask for a contribution to our expenses.
To facilitate this we would usually suggest an audit of any existing artworks to produce a catalogue with up to date values for insurance or sale purposes and any other relevant information to give insight into your collection and enable the formulation of your Art Strategy.
From this information we would work with you to develop a fully actionable strategy detailing our proposals and to enable us to then source, select and supply suitable artworks.
As well as this we are able to assist with the application for planning consent for artworks if required.
“As part of our development at King’s Cross we had a Section 106 commitment to install public art. We wanted the art to reflect the heritage of the site, our commitment to quality and stand the test of time…….We are delighted with the result and would be happy to recommend Art Contact as an art consultant and commissioning agent for art commissions.”
