Art Curation by Art Contact

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) was introduced to Art Contact through the design and build company We Are Two, following the completion of their Category B refurbishment programme. The client sought to enhance their new workspace with a curated art collection that would provide the finishing touch — artworks that reflect both the company’s heritage and its global presence.

As a South African mining company headquartered in Johannesburg, with sites worldwide — including a new base in London and a gold mine in Colorado — the project called for a visual narrative that connected these locations while celebrating the company’s history and identity.

We began by reviewing AGA’s archival photography collection, selecting a number of historic and contemporary images to transform into digital artworks. These were enhanced and reimagined into abstract compositions for the staff areas, offering a modern interpretation of the company’s story and legacy.

For the main boardroom, we commissioned artist Eason, known for his striking use of gold leaf. Two works from his Mappa Mundi series — depicting Johannesburg and London — were selected to represent AGA’s geographical and cultural connections. To complete the trio, a new piece was commissioned: Contour of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado, produced on di-bond with gold leaf and framed in UV-reflective glass.

The resulting collection brings together heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation — a celebration of AngloGold Ashanti’s global footprint and enduring relationship with gold, presented through a refined and contemporary visual language.

Art Curation by Art Contact

When Aboria Asset Management sought to enhance their workspace, they commissioned Art Contact to create a series of bespoke artworks that would embody their brand identity while enriching the visual atmosphere of the office.

Our brief was to design contemporary artworks that incorporate the company’s logo and brand colours within abstract and nature-inspired compositions, creating a strong sense of cohesion and professionalism throughout the space.

Working collaboratively with digital artist Gudawer, we developed a collection that subtly weaves Aboria’s branding into elegant, visually engaging panels for both the Managing Director’s office and the staff areas. The resulting artworks blend digital precision with organic forms, echoing the firm’s values of clarity, balance, and innovation.

Each piece was printed onto di-bond panels and mounted with a sub-frame, allowing the artworks to float seamlessly off the wall. This approach not only enhanced the overall presentation but also fulfilled a practical element of the brief — eliminating reflections during Teams meetings, an important consideration for the client.

The completed installation delivers a cohesive and sophisticated visual statement — artworks that reinforce Aboria’s brand presence while creating a calm and inspiring workplace environment.

Georgian Town House, Private Office Artwork Curation

The client was introduced to Art Contact through We Are Two Design. Following the initial introduction, Art Contact worked directly with Fairway to curate the artwork for 33 Sackville Street, a Georgian town house transformed into a refined private office.

Our brief was to curate a modernist collection that would reflect the client’s deep appreciation for fine art and exceptional craftsmanship, while maintaining a defined budget. The collection was to include works across multiple media, creating a harmonious balance between tradition and contemporary design.

The resulting curation brought together photography, digital art, and paintings by Royal Academicians, alongside decorative artefacts from Murano and Georg Jensen. The scheme also incorporated carefully arranged faux floral displays and contemporary mirrors by Gam Fratesi for the main entrance, blending classic and modern design elements.

The final collection achieves an elegant equilibrium between sophistication and visual interest. It reflects the client’s discerning taste while complementing the architectural heritage of the Georgian townhouse, creating a timeless and cohesive modernist environment.
