Perhaps the first part of any new project is an audit of existing collections. This is a hugely useful tool to work out what you have. It’s also a very good springboard for thinking about the future direction of the collection, from expansion to remodelling.
From the audit, we can construct a catalogue of works which can be as detailed as you require. We can include just the basic information – photographs, condition and provenance or artworks – or compile a more detailed version, which might include indepth art historical research and valuation.
Getting your art valued is a vital part of ongoing art collection management. We can organize valuation through our own expert contacts at the major auction houses, and then advise on and set up specialist insurance to make sure your collection is covered for any eventuality, whether on location or in transit.
Our art collection management covers all aspects of the day to day care and management of your collection. We can organize regular visits to monitor the condition of your artworks, advise on care and re-curate your collection at regular intervals to refresh your look. We can also design materials to promote your collection to visitors and staff, from leaflets to catalogues and temporary exhibitions.
A rigorous appraisal of any art collection often pinpoints works that either don’t sit well within the collection or need to be moved on for other reasons. We are experienced at selling works, both privately and through auction houses and dealers, negotiating excellent commission rates for our clients.
If your collection is large or contains important or unusual works, you may also find yourself being asked to loan works to other collections or exhibitions, or to participate in a temporary exchange of works. We have long experience of these situations and are delighted to assist.
If your company has a strong corporate social responsibility, you may be looking for ways to imaginatively engage with your local community. Art can play a huge part in this. We can manage your art collection to this effect, arranging exhibitions or liaising with local schools and communities to help further your aims.
