When CGE Asset Management relocated to new offices, they invited Art Contact to curate a collection of artworks that would transform the workplace into an inspiring and visually stimulating environment.

The brief was clear — to create a space with strong visual impact and conversational interest, but not wacky. In response, we curated a collection that blends sophistication with creative diversity, featuring works across a range of media and styles.

The boardroom features an aluminium oil paint panel installation by internationally acclaimed artist Eric Butcher, complemented by Chuck Elliott’s digital art panels. Elsewhere, the collection expands with Winter’s constructed works, abstract oil paintings by Lanyon and McAlpine, and Fuscoe’s striking upcycled magazine installation for the meeting rooms and client areas. Bright, framed limited-edition prints add vibrancy and energy to the open workspace.

Over the following years, we continued to expand the collection, most recently commissioning new works for an additional meeting room and the corridor connecting reception to client areas. In this phase the office art curation centered on sustainability and visual continuity.

For this latest commission, we selected Stuart Hartley, whose practice spans from architectural installations to intimate explorations of colour and space. His new works for CGE include an acrylic on birch plywood installation concealing a poem by Rudyard Kipling, and a piece from his Incident Series, which reflects on the unexpected moments that interrupt the formality of everyday life.

Together, these artworks form a cohesive and evolving collection — one that reflects CGE Asset Management’s values of creativity, innovation, and thoughtful design.
