Art and Artefact Relocation and ongoing collection management

Art Contact was engaged to manage the relocation of the bank’s artworks and artefacts to their new offices.

Our brief was to ensure a seamless move while maintaining the integrity, condition, and placement of the collection, including the management of artworks requiring restoration, framing, and additional fabrication.

To begin the process, Art Contact carried out a comprehensive audit of all artworks and artefacts, compiling the information into a custom database. A dedicated viewing portal was created to allow stakeholders to review the collection remotely and make informed decisions about the placement of each piece in the new office.

Detailed reports were produced to document the locations of each item in the existing offices and their proposed new placements. These reports were used throughout the move and annotated by the movers to confirm collection, delivery, and installation at the correct locations.

Following the relocation, all artworks and artefacts were installed as planned. Some items required framing or restoration prior to installation, which was fully costed and approved before work commenced. One of the more complex aspects of the project involved relocating a large Pegasus sculpture, which required additional fabrication before it could be safely installed in its new position.

The project remains ongoing, with Art Contact continuing to manage the collection through regular database maintenance, logistical coordination, and ongoing support as required.
