Wild, Julian
Julian graduated with a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from Kingston University in 1995. Julian works in a variety of materials from stainless steel through to ceramic and glass, creating both indoor and exterior works.
His work is a form of three-dimensional drawing. The linear structures that he makes either explore the boundaries of a pre-determined shape or the boundaries of the architecture that they exist in. His projects are often based on the history of the site and reference functional processes and systems.
He has exhibited at The Saatchi Gallery, The Victoria and Albert Museum,V22 Ashwin Street, The Wharf Road Project and at The Hospital Club. He is currently working towards a major outdoor solo exhibition in April 2011 at Burghley House, Stamford and a solo installation project at Leighton House Museum, Holland Park in September 2011.
He has been commissioned to make public artworks for: Millfield School, The Cass Sculpture Foundation, Crest Nicholson, The Jerwood Sculpture Park, Schroders, Wyeth Europa, Radley College and Sculpture in the parklands in Ireland.
In 2005 he was shortlisted for The Jerwood Sculpture Prize.He is the current recipient of the Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea and Chelsea Arts Club Trust Studio Bursary.
