Most of my work has a realistic starting point, initially inspired by travel abroad and personal experience. The development and final resolution of the work then becomes an abstracted process, with shapes and forms moving from a descriptive starting point towards a more symbolic form. Colour plays a vital role in all of my work, as I explore its relative values and power in conveying both emotional and visual concerns.
