I am very interested in the concept of painting as inquiry, and also of referring to quiet, intimate, secluded places within my immediate landscape. I have spent much of the past decade involved with a three-mile stretch of the River Wylye close to where I live in South Wiltshire, along with adjacent water meadows and nearby forest.
